We understand that keeping your family warm through the winter is a priority, and that for some families it can be financially challenging. Just like you, keeping families in Southeast Pennsylvania warm and comfortable is a top priority for our team at Countryside Fuel.
That is why we are proud to take part in the Pennsylvania LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program), working with local organizations to help the friends and neighbors who need it most. Below are the offices and organizations that can help you apply.
LIHEAP is a Pennsylvania Department of Human Services program that helps households with limited income pay for home heat. It covers delivered fuels like heating oil, not only gas and electric service, so Countryside Fuel customers can put it toward their heating oil.
A LIHEAP cash grant is a one-time payment that the state sends straight to your heating fuel company, not to you. When you apply, name Countryside Fuel as your fuel company. Once the grant is approved, it is credited to your Countryside Fuel account and applied to your heating oil deliveries.
A crisis grant is for a heating emergency: you are out of heating oil or about to run out, your utility service has been shut off or is about to be, or your heating equipment has broken down. Crisis grants come on top of the cash grant. In an emergency, contact your county assistance office right away, then call our office at (610) 314-0294 so we know a grant request is in progress for your account.
Apply online through COMPASS, the state benefits website at www.compass.state.pa.us, or contact your county assistance office by phone or in person. The offices in our delivery area are listed below. Have income information for everyone in your household and a recent heating bill or fuel delivery slip ready when you apply.
LIHEAP opens each year when the season opens in the fall and runs into the spring. The state sets the dates every year, so check COMPASS or call your county assistance office for this season's dates, and apply as soon as the season opens.
